The Cowboy Trail follows the Eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and Turner Valley is located right in the heart of Alberta ranching country. You will know that the cowboy lifestyle is still alive and well by the weather-beaten faces and the hands that have seen years of outdoor work.
Don't
be surprised if you chance upon a cattle drive in progress, as cattle
are moved to the next grazing area. Spring sees branding parties, where
all are invited to lend a hand & the hospitality is legendary. A major
fall round-up occur just 20 minutes west of us in the scenic Sheep River
valley. Just 30 minutes south, you can visit The Bar U Ranch, a national
historic site, where you can experience ranch life on one of the oldest
ranches in Alberta.
Whether it be Chuckwagon Races in High River, the Millarville Rodeo, the Little Britches Rodeo, the Calgary Stampede, or a little country music, our staff is here to help make sure you experience as much as possible during your stay. If you yearn to slip into a saddle polished smooth from denim and sweat, you can enjoy trail rides for an hour or a number of days just 15 minutes west of the hotel. Be sure to bring your camera, as the scenery will have you planning your next visit, before you even leave. Come visit us, where the western lifestyle is still a reality!
